BOCCACCIO life in Destelbergen Hier begon voor het grote publiek in 1987 de New Beat met de smileys, hier werd de nieuwe trend gezet in muziek land.Olivier Pieters, Eric beyens, Mike thompson & phi phi zijn de nog 4 bekende dj,s van deze club. Deze discotheek heeft beroemd verleden qua razzia's betreft,deze discotheek is en blijft voor mij de disco der discotheken.Als je aan kwam rijden en je zag de Neons van de Bocca dan kreeg je al de kriebels van ik wil naar binnen ..snel. De boccaccio werd in ook in 1993 gesloten wegens veel heisa over drugs.Sinds kort is de "bocca" weer open en wel onder een andere naam de 'de Temple' want de naam boccaccio was verkocht 'spijtig', zeker een keer een kijkje gaan nemen ;-)

Helaas hebben sinds kort een verbouwing gedaan waarbij de oude dj booth verplaast is naar de andere kant en de complete neon muur achter de booth verdwenen is. Wie verzint het in godsnaam, iets wat mooi en juist spectaculair is verander je toch niet ? die neon wand stond voor den Bocca.  Ook de buiten kant heeft een complete facelift achter de rug en van de oude is weinig meer over.  Wil je nog meer van de geschiedenis van de boccaccio willen lezen zie dit artikel  

Ik heb zelf vijf mixen opgenomen als een soort van tribute aan de Boccaccio, zie onder de tracklist. Deze mixen zullen binnenkort ge'upload worden. Deze mixen staan in het teken van 1988 t/m 1991 dus van Hip house, acid, house naar new beat.  Voor vragen mail naar info@djfrancois.nl

Update: Op zaterdag 29 nov was er een reunie in de temple "the sound of B " en de ouwe boccaccio was weer even in zijn glorie jaren mee te maken voor de oudjes check deze beelden maar eens met dank aan Yoko ono die dit mede mogelijk maakte.  Bocca new 2008 en op dit forum meer over het feest. De neons are back!!!! Bocca liefhebbers bereid je voor want in 2009 staat er weer één geplant denk ik!
